Tiki King's Ukulele Database:
Star
The Star name appears in the 1960's on a Japanese drum line that later became Tama. This Japanese factory, Hoshino Gakki, also produced Ibanez guitars and amplifiers, as well as Ukuleles. The Name "Hoshino" translates to "Star Field" , so this is a possible connection. Also, Lyon & Healy advertised a Star brand banjo circa 1890, and there were instruments made by Vega, as well as Perfacktone that had a star inlay on the headstock.
